Dear Delegates and Staff Advisors,

It is our distinct pleasure to invite you all to Havergal’s 5th annual HCMUN conference! On behalf of the Secretariat, Staff, and the whole Havergal Community, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you all and are delighted to host you at our Havergal College campus on February 23rd, 2019.

This year, we’ll have eight committees to offer delegates, including the United Nations Security Council, the International Olympic Committee, and a historical joint crisis on World War II. No matter what your experience level, there is sure to be a committee for you at HCMUN!

Guided by the principles of diplomacy and international collaboration, the UN seeks to uphold global peace and security as outlined by its principal document, The Charter of the United Nations. Delegates at HCMUN will be judged by conducting themselves according to these values in addition to their public speaking and debate skills. Most importantly, a successful delegate will demonstrate their knowledge of foreign affairs and bring innovative solutions to large issues regardless of their assignment or committee.

If you have any questions or can’t find something on our website, please feel free to contact us at You can also contact our faculty advisors, Ina Székely, Adam Pounder, and Sarah Croft if you have any further inquiries, comments, or concerns.

Finally, we would like to thank our amazing HCMUN Staff and faculty advisors for making this conference possible!

We look forward to seeing you all in February, and are excited for a day of engaging debate.

Best wishes,

Laura David and Schehrezade Yousafzai
