The United States Cabinet is an arm of the executive branch that serves to advise the President. For the purposes of creating dynamic debate and presenting multiple points of view, external roles will be added to the committee.

INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the non-governmental organization responsible for organizing the Olympic Games, and at HCMUN 2019, it will be composed of various IOC members, each the head of an IOC Commission (IOC subcommittee) and representing a country. While the Olympics themselves are a longstanding tradition, it is the job of the IOC to continually respond to and evolve with any social, political, economic, and environmental changes that arise around the world.

INTERNATIONAL COURT OF CRIMINALS

The international Criminal Court is an intergovernmental organization within the UN that investigates and prosecutes international war crimes, crimes against humanity, and terrorism. The ICC prosecutes cases when a country’s government is unable or unwilling to prosecute and individual or group for their crimes, or when the case is referred to the ICC by the UNSC. The ICC aims to hold individuals or states responsible for their crimes and also strives to prevent them from happening in the future.

This year HCMUN is excited to offer a World War II Joint Crisis Committee! Members of this committee will be divided into Allied and Axis powers who, though in separate rooms, will have to work together to decide the trajectory of and ultimately end the war.
